Lotus West was a car club founded in 1967 in the Los Angeles area by a group of Lotus Enthusiasts dedicated to keep their cars on the road. Through meetings & a monthly newsletter called "Stress Cracks" they shared information on a regular basis.

In 1976 the contents of the newsletters & annual meetings was gathered together & published as the "Lotus West Technical Manual". Per Herb Berkwits (Lotus West member #2) "The Tech Manual was a labor of love written by many owners in the club who just loved the cars and needed them to be fast on the slalom weekends and reliable commuter cars during the week." Though some of the articles are outdated, many articles are still of interest & give a view into how the Lotus World shared information almost 50 years ago, many years before the internet & car forums came into being.

A 2nd edition of the Technical Manual was published circa 1984, removing several articles, updating  a couple of articles & adding articles 084-106.

I have digitized & indexed the Technical manuals so that the information contained can live on & help new generations maintain these wonderful cars.
